The Northern beaches of Cairns are a great place to take the kids for a family holiday. All Australian families love to holiday at the beach and this region gives you so many options to choose from. Beachside activities and atractions include swimming, snorkelling, diving, sailing, jet skiing and kayaking. The beaches have stinger nets during the wet season to protect swimmers and most are patrolled. The great bulk of the places where you can stay in the Cairns beaches region is in apartment style resorts and these are what is preferred by mast families with kids as they are self catering which means the budget can be kept under control. The kids will still have access to a tv and most accommodation has internet access.
There are many family activities available here to keep the kids entertained for the duration of your stay. Trips to the Great Barrier Reef are a favourite with the kids as they will love to snorkel over the coral and see the brightly coloured fish. Another favourite is a four wheel drive trip to the Daintree rainforest. The kids learn all about it in school and now they can experience its majesty in person. On the way home a stop at the Mossman Gorge for a swim and a family picnic will be a real winner.
Cairns is very close by and there are many attractions to take the kids to see such as the sky rail or one of the great wildlife parks. Most children will be excited to see the local wildlife and if it happens to be a big crocodile they will like it even more. Every resort in North Queensland has a great swimming pool. Some are really more like lagoons, so your kids will be able to play in the pool as long as they like.
Some places are better than others to take the kids for a holiday and the Cairns beaches are one of the best.
