Your Celebrant
Once you have confirmed your wedding date with the Wedding Coordinator, they will then confirm a marriage celebrant who will conduct the ceremony. You are of course able to choose your own celebrant, should you wish to do so. The marriage celebrant will discuss with you the legal procedures, as well as the ceremony content.
Legal Requirements
To marry in Australia you must be 18 years of age or over.
Documents required consist of:
- Birth Certificate
- Valid 10 year passport
- If divorced – Decree Absolute
- If widowed – Death Certificate of former spouse and previous Marriage Certificate
- If your name has changed by deed poll – legal proof
- Notice of Intended Marriage – available from Australian Embassy in your country
Originals of all documents including Notice of Intended Marriage are required at the resort before the ceremony.
Flowers
A wedding bouquet for the bride and a button hole for the groom are included in your wedding package. Additional flowers can be arranged for your ceremony or reception.
YOUR CELEBRATION
Wedding Cake
A wedding cake for the bride and groom is included in the wedding package. At an additional cost, their chef can coordinate a larger cake to cater for your needs.

Your Wedding Coordinator can tailor a reception to suit the size and style of your wedding.

LOCATION & GETTING THERE
Your Location
Bedarra Island is the perfect setting for a wedding celebration of just two, or up to 32 guests. No matter what the size is of your celebration, you will be offered personal service and attention to detail.
Where Do We Hold Our Ceremony?
Upon arrival at Bedarra Island the resort Wedding Coordinator will show you the different locations at which you can hold your ceremony location.
Getting There
To get to Bedarra Island regular flights are available to Cairns from all Australian Capital cities with Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Blue. Once arriving at Cairns you can either travel on a short 45 minute flight to Dunk Island with Hinterland or alternatively a boat transfer operates from Mission Beach 3 times a day. Cairns Limousines offer a meet/greet service from Cairns Airport and Cairns City to Mission Beach. Cars depart daily on demand and seat up to 3 passengers with luggage. Larger vehicles are also available. Once arriving at Dunk Island a 20 minute boat transfer between Dunk and Bedarra Islands meets Hinterland transfers daily.
